MedSync hits the play button with new video feature for clinicians

24 May 2023

Clinical image sharing application MedSync has pressed play on its greatly anticipated video sharing feature. Developed by eHealth NSW in partnership with Microsoft, MedSync is a way for staff to collaborate on clinical cases, sharing photos and comments across the state, safely and securely, via MS Teams.

The new video upload and sharing feature came off feedback from more than 60 clinicians.

“Up until now, we have had to rely on written descriptions of seizure events submitted by first responders.

The new MedSync video feature will revolutionise the way we diagnose seizures. It will allow first responders to video the seizure and provide data to neurologists to confirm seizure diagnosis accurately”, said Dr Aaron Gaekwad – Neurology Advanced Trainee, South West Local Health District.

The new video upload option supports the ability to:

  • Capture and share a 60 second video for more accurate diagnosis and clinical decision making
  • Upload the video directly into a patient record, enhancing record keeping, and
  • Capture video without the video being stored on a personal device, improving confidentiality.

The MedSync app is now available to all clinical staff at hospitals across the state via Microsoft Teams.
