About the Internship Program
The eHealth NSW and SDPRIA Internship Program is a 12-month, development focused opportunity for final-year university students studying IT, business, commerce, communications, or a health-related discipline.
As an intern, you’ll take a hands-on role in real projects that improve healthcare across NSW, contributing across technical and project support roles.

The eHealth NSW and SDPRIA internship is designed to offer you with real-world job experience in the government sector as you continue to study and work on initiatives that benefit the people of NSW.

The application process is two stages. The first includes the written application answering a set of questions and the second are activities to be completed on assessment day. For people with a disability and Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait islander people, adjustments can be supported based on individual needs.

From application to letter of offer the process approximately takes three months.

Applicants must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, a New Zealand citizen or hold a valid visa with permission to work. The eHealth NSW and Single Digital Patient Record Implementation Authority (SDPRIA) internship is a 12-month program targeted at university students in their final year. Successful candidates will be required to work a minimum of three days (24 hours) and a maximum of five days (38 hours) per week for the duration of the internship – if you are unable to do so you will not be eligible.
Targeted Candidates
We are committed to working toward a more diverse workforce. We strongly encourage people with different ability levels and Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people to apply.
Targeted positions that are identified for eligible persons are limited to Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people or people with a disability only.
For candidates who identify Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, or are a person with a disability, you do not currently need to be enrolled in a qualification or degree in IT, business, commerce, communications, or a health-related discipline to apply. However, a recent qualification or degree is desirable.
You will also be required to work a minimum of three days up to five full business days (based on your availability) for the duration of your internship.

The level of IT experience required will depend on which area of the business you are applying to. Project and business support intern positions generally do not require IT experience, whereas technology intern positions may require specific IT knowledge and experience. Please refer to the business descriptions, which will be available once the positions are advertised.
More importantly, we want to see your passion and willingness to learn as our program is designed to develop your skills and growth in your given area.

From day one, our internship's purpose is to provide you real-world experience so you can apply what you've learnt in class.
Successful candidates will be expected to attend professional development courses during the duration of the program to upskill themselves for a new working environment. Interns are required to meet with their managers on a frequent basis to discuss their performance and development that will help them reach their career goals. You will have many opportunities to engage with your cohort to form strong bonds and develop your professional relationships through networking.
