The management and dispensation of medications is set to get easier following the rollout of a statewide i.Pharmacy system across all NSW hospitals.
The i.Pharmacy statewide system consolidation will support hospital pharmacies to bring 10 separate installations into one single, centralised application.
eHealth NSW is supporting all Local Health Districts (LHDs) and Specialty Health Networks (SHNs) across the state to move local installations of i.Pharmacy to the State Based Build (SBB), hosted in the cloud.
The SBB has made progress by moving all LHD and SHN databases into a testing environment and the project team is now working on a plan to make sure the system works well and is easy to test. They are implementing additional testing to make sure the system is safe, fast, and can recover from potential disasters.
