In April 2018, eHealth introduced a state-wide database within StaffLink (NSW Health’s Human Resources and Payroll system) that enables Health Agencies to record vaccination information and compliancy status for all staff. This database is called VaxLink.
Phase 1 of VaxLink has enabled the Ministry of Health to report on this compliancy status to external NSW Government departments. Future phases will reduce the administrative burden on our front-line people with a range of enhancements. For example, Health Agencies will be able to attach immunisation certifications and pathology results to a staff member’s profile, making it easier to meet ongoing internal and external audit requirements through automated reporting.
All Health Agencies not using existing online systems commenced using VaxLink from 1 April 2019.
Benefits of VaxLink include:
- Helping Health Agencies to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment Screening and Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases policy.
- A state-wide view of immunisation compliance.
- A state-wide system where health entities can store immunisation information throughout a staff member’s career with NSW Health – including as they transfer between Health Agencies.
