The Single Digital Patient Record (SDPR) is a groundbreaking health program that offers a secure, integrated view of a patient's care across the NSW Health system.
By consolidating a patient’s full medical history into a single, comprehensive record, SDPR ensures seamless access to clinical information, improving care across all settings.
For clinicians, this means immediate access to critical patient data, enabling faster, more informed decisions. This streamlined access reduces administrative workload and enhances both care efficiency and quality.
The SDPR program will achieve this by partnering with NSW Health districts, pillars, public health services, staff, clinical leaders and community members who support or interact with the statewide health service.
SDPR will be delivered under the leadership of the Single Digital Patient Record Implementation Authority (SDPRIA).
As a key partner, eHealth NSW plays a crucial role in the successful implementation and adoption of SDPR. In collaboration with the SDPR Implementation Authority (SDPRIA) and other partners, we are transforming care delivery across NSW Health, improving the experience for patients, carers, and staff.
“This is partnership in action, drawing on the expertise, talent and skills of our diverse partners to adapt, configure and deliver outcomes that will set up SDPR and NSW Health for success,” - Dr Teresa Anderson AM, Chief Executive of the SDPRIA
As NSW Health's digital centre of excellence, eHealth NSW provides critical technical support and expertise to ensure the successful implementation and operation of the SDPR.
eHealth NSW's contributions include:
Infrastructure Development
eHealth NSW has established a secure, scalable hosting environment for the SDPR on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud, laying a solid foundation for the program’s success.
System Integration
In partnership with SDPRIA, Epic, and Solventum, eHealth NSW has developed a new server to integrate the statewide encoder for medical record coding, enhancing system interoperability.
Technical Expertise
eHealth NSW ensures the SDPR’s success by managing system architecture, overseeing secure data integration, and maintaining the infrastructure necessary for cloud-based services.
Together, we’re building a smarter, more connected health system — where technology, teamwork and trust come together to deliver better care for every patient, everywhere.
