eHealth NSW hosts an extensive array of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) equipment, which supports the statewide delivery of critical applications to NSW Health, currently housed within five major data centres.

Three data centres are located at Newcastle, Liverpool and Cumberland, and two new dedicated IT rooms are contained within the new Government Data Centres at Silverwater and Unanderra.

Between them they host a total of 220 computer cabinets, containing thousands of devices (servers, storage, communications), so as to provide critical clinical and corporate applications to the broader health community of NSW, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

The data centres at Liverpool, Cumberland and Newcastle additionally host 70 cabinets of ICT equipment delivering critical clinical services specifically to those Local Health Districts.

As part of the NSW Government ICT strategy, the ICT services being delivered from the three data centres will be transitioned into the new Government Data Centres by 2017.
