Stage three

Offer and next steps

What to expect after assessment as we move towards an outcome and how this stage helps us identify people ready to support digital health services across NSW.

Final checks before an offer

Before we finalise an offer, we complete a small number of checks to confirm your suitability for the role and the responsibilities that come with supporting NSW Health’s digital systems, services and information.

These may include:

  • reference checks – to understand your previous experience and performance
  • Australian National Police Check – where required for the role

We’ll let you know what is needed and guide you through each step.

💡 Providing information promptly helps us keep your application moving.

Offer and getting started

If you are successful, we will support you through your offer and onboarding so you feel prepared to start your role at eHealth NSW.

Your offer will include key details such as your role, start date and employment conditions. We will support you through onboarding so you can get set up, understand how our teams work together and feel ready to contribute from your first day.

As part of joining eHealth NSW, you will be expected to follow the NSW Health Code of Conduct, which guides how we work together in a respectful, safe and inclusive way.

Prepare for your first day

As you prepare for your first day, we will make sure you feel supported and ready to join a workplace focused on improving digital experiences for NSW Health staff, patients and communities. Here is what to expect:

  • your manager will reach out ahead of your start date
  • you will receive key information and contacts
  • we will guide you through onboarding and getting set up.

💡 You can also connect with us on LinkedIn to learn more about the people of eHealth NSW and the work we do.

We’re excited to have you join us and be part of improving healthcare outcomes across NSW.

If you are not successful

If you are not successful this time, we will let you know the outcome and encourage you to explore future opportunities with eHealth NSW.

You will have the opportunity to request feedback from the hiring manager, which can help you understand your strengths and identify areas for development.

Your skills and experience may align with future roles supporting digital systems, services and transformation across NSW Health and each application is a valuable step in your career journey.

Previous applications do not impact future opportunities and we welcome you to apply again for roles that match your skills and interests.

Talent pools and opportunities

If you perform strongly but are not selected for this specific role, you may be placed in an eHealth NSW talent pool or eligibility list (eList), helping us stay connected with people who have the skills and potential to support future digital health priorities.

Being included means you have been assessed as meeting the requirements of the role and may be considered for similar opportunities as programs, services and workforce needs evolve.

Talent pools are typically valid for up to 18 months. When a suitable role becomes available:

  • hiring managers have the option to review the talent pool before advertising externally
  • you may be contacted to discuss an opportunity
  • additional checks or a short conversation may be required.

If you are contacted about a role, you will have the opportunity to learn more and decide if it is right for you.
